Stupid Thermaltake....

Post by nexus_7 »

Look at this junk.

http://www.thermaltake.com/products/heatsink/v11.htm

Im sure it is a nice heatsink and all that but, 1: that gril makes it Much louder and im sure restricts some air and also Looks dumb, and 2: WFT, that thing has GOT to be really heavy and they STILL havent figgured out how to use a tripple tab clip.

Both those are Really gana hurt there sales I would guess.

Look at the fan control. Mounts in a slot cover. Who the f*&@ is going to crawl under their desk to adjust a fan ? ?

they had the same thing with there v7+ (which was pretty much the same as this one, it just had a 70mm fan instead of 80. and its fan thingy was slow, med and high, not fully ajustable...eithor way, they havent figgured it out yet, people want quality, funcionality, and reliability.

ya the V9 was about the biggest joke i had ever seen... for a company like them you would think they'd learn how to make a damn HSF that looked nice aka not useing ORANGE and cool effectively... only way the V9 cooled good was when the fan was cranked up and moving 50+ cfm of air then you got to deal with the noise level...

It does look exactly like the v 7+, but with their new smartfan II and a new way to mount the fan controller. At least they did released a newer version of the v7+ with a 3 prong clip. So why didn't they include that 3 prong clip with this one? :;

Geez, what class. Change the fan and sell it as a new heatsink.

Don't get me started on that total POS v9.

Tt is about gimmicks and looks, but that new one looks horrible.

I like my V9.....it's quieter than my Delta 7k RPM 60mm fan :)

Mine cools rather effectively, given I did get it because I was on a budget and it was cheap. My V9 has a triple tab clip on it.....it also appears that the V11 does also maybe it's just my eyes but the upper right picture below looks like a 3 prong clip.........

I think Tt should add weight to the specs for heat sinks.. they have other specs that have nothjing to do with it at all.

Application for: AMD Athlon XP UP TO 3400+

How the hell do they know that? For all they know the 3400+ might require vapochill cooling to keep it stable. Seems like someone could really nail them for false advertizing there.

Also... seems like they might want to put a 4 pin connector on that fan; assuming it does put out 4800rpm (80mm fan) and 75CFM. My 80mm cpu fan on my AX7 puts out 50CFM @ 3watts which is probably already more than you should have on your motherboard.
