Sound skipping

My sound randomly skips, and will stop. It doesn't just skip really, it glitches and acts like its looping, then recovers. In the middle of this, if I move the mouse or hit a key it immediately recovers. Any ideas?

a better question would be what are your system specs ? what are you running hardware wise ?

is this the system you built in A+? If so, when did you experience the problem? Has this always happened or did it start after you did something (installed a peice of hardware, some game or other peice of software)?

also (assuming this is the comp you built in A+) if you have a sound card and onboard sound (sound on your motherboard), then you should disable the sound on your motherboard in BIOS. If you don't have a soundcard, and you're using the onboard sound, then you might want to make sure you installed the drivers right that came with your motherboard...
