I am running a amd xp1800+
havnt overclocked anything else on it besides the fsb which is up to 145

I have been using a ThermalTake Volcano 7 a1124 on my system for a while. But I was looking around in my boxes of crap and found I have a GlobalWin TAK 68 dual fan series

Which would give me better cooling?

I know the volcano7 has the copper insert and its big as hell. But the dual fan is kinda tempting along with the 3 clip prong.

Call me lazy for not swapping them out and testing them both......but I rather just swap once and be done with it. So what do you all recommend?

Tak68, taint no contest. That thing does cool well. I've had them both.

id say just let AOL do all the cooling.

I have a coolermaster HHC-001 on my xp 1800 (its only runnig at 1.2 right now) and it stays at 86F under full load. that and i have an after market fan on it that moves less air and is quieter.

LOL
that seems to be the most popular answer.

Alright, i will remove the hsf completly and let the processor be cooled by AOL

welp......i swapped out the hsfs

I am now using the globalwin tak68. I am not sure how much quieter it is over my volcano7 (hard to tell when you got 2 120mm fans goin)
but I did notice that my cpu temps are 3-5 degress C higher

but man......was it fun to install that sucker. Nice to be able to work without a screwdriver. Just a few turns till its snug and all is well
