mobo problems please help!!

Post by ji1831 »

a few months ago i wrote that i had a problem with my mobo, but even with all the help from this forum i was not able to fix this problem.....

everything seems fine....but when i boot up and it shows all the screens with the the cpu clock speed and how much ram you have and the irq page..... most mobo say update successful.. or something like that but mine says unknown bios......then it goes to my dual boot screen....

it work just fine, except my usb ports are not working, and the site says that the newest bios update will fix it, but i cant get the bios to be updated because it says it doesnt recognize the type and it says its unknown sooooo.......
ive tried to flash the bios to nothing.....

i have a athlon xp 2000+ but can only run it at 1800+ because the bios only recognizes up to 1800+....... will i have to get a new bios chip or something....... any help will do.
thanks in advance

not sure about the bios issue, but an easy fix for usb ports not being detected is that there option in bios disable usb or enable it. you want this option to be enabled.

hope this helps

What kind of motherboard?

And are you positive you have the right bios update for the correct motherboard? Also is the fsb set to 133 in the bios and be sure any jumpers are set correctly on the mobo too.
