Oh, have I mentioned what a P.O.S. Windows Media Player 7 is?

I do not use Media Player 7. I never install it on my Win2K systems, and on my XP Lan party rig I use the secret undocumented installation of Media Player 6.4.
Media Player 7 is a resource hogging piece of CR@P.
I was watching some videos on my new lappy (the cool BF1942 vids I posted a link to in the Cheers forum) and couldn't believe how badly WMP 7 (which is installed by default - it's a WinME installation) ran on this thing. You could barely move the mouse while playing Divx videos (and this is a P3-800!). Checked the free resources and behold, it's down to 40% while it's playing!
So on a hunch I do a search for MPLAYER2.exe on the C drive and lo and behold it's there! This is Media Player 6.4 which (just like XP) comes secretly installed in WinME - there's just no shortcut for it.
Running my vids in 6.4 now and everything is running smoothly. I wipe my @SS with that code bloated WMP 7.
Phew.... sorry, had to vent
