OCZ memory - what's the story? Are they legitimate? Or rebadges?

Want to pick up some DDR memory in the not so distant future, so curious to know. Recall reading something about them before. Forgot. Please refresh my memory if you know the scoop, thx.

I wouldn't consider buying anything from that low life company even if they were the only options available.
They have a long and sad history of poor customer service, many many complaints, making many new websites when one they have up gets a bad wrap, etc...
Plus they have a long history of making hardware review sites who only make praising reviews of their own produts, but of course never tell others they are ocz owned.
Hardware sites who help promote that company are themselves ethically challenged.

i will NEVER deal with these dishonest people. Its one thing to be trolled by someone on a forum, its a whole other thing to be trolled by a company. Well.......actually they aint that different.

I bought a stick of OCZ pc3200 some time ago (after not doing my homework
) 'cause it was cheap - turned out to be medium quality pc2700 - it runs ok at ~185 @ 2.5 but it ain't true 3200 - right now it seems like corsair and samsung are the top dogs
i bought a bunch of crucial pc2100 when it was down to $35/256 - and sold it when the prices went way up about 6 mos ago - wish i'd kept it !
the reviews on the "new and improved" OCZ still show it to be over speced and not capable of running at rated speed.

I also bought some PC2700 ram after NOT doing my homework. All I can say is I got LUCKY! It's rebaged Samsung and I am able to run it at the most aggressive settings for PC 2700. Ultra and 2T.
Forgot to mention, I bought it from NewEgg.

oh, ok, now it's starting to come back....
Yeah, there was a big deal about them awhile ago. Good thing I didn't order anything yet. Still too undecided on pretty much anything and everything, gah!! Looks like I'm playing the waiting game. Oh well, doesn't hurt. Don't have spare change anyways.
