What motherboard do you have and were you overclocking when this happened. Sometimes you can reset the cmos and clear it up. If that don't work. better RMA it and get a new one...

sounds like the bios chip is corrupt. Can you force it to flash?

write an autoexec that will automatically write the bios for you. you can use command line switches that are in the flash.exe that will flash and reset your system.

its not loading an os its just executing the awdflash.exe which is auto searching the disk for a .bin file
how can i force flash it?

I know with some bios you can put a switch to make it flash regardless of the bios. you may have to go to the award site and do some digging for the command line switches

try putting on an older bios. Sometimes that works. Definately try resetting the cmos too. Not to insult ur intelligence but make sure that the bios is unzipped and is a .bin file. Make sure to use the recommended awdflash.exe of the vendor (should be a link for it on the BIOS download page usually). Well good luck!

Something very much like this just happened to me last week with my old Asus T2P4 mobo. It was also a checksum error. Probably a different situation that what you're experiencing, but here's what I did:

Boot and immediately invoke the BIOS (usually Delete key, after video is recognized, but before anything else happens). On the main screen, choose to restore default BIOS settings. Save and exit (reboot). If it gets past the "system disc" dialog, hard reset and go back into the BIOS and verify hard drives are properly set, etc. Save and exit again.

I fixed the blasted thing so quick, I'm not sure if there was anything else that I did. Hope this helps.
