my speekers are always humming or buzzing. So I went to play with the connections and the main plug it seems is very loose or something now.
Gana take it apaprt tomarow and see if I can tighten it up...but then again, I need some new speekers anyways.

Try spraying both the plug and the socket with some contact cleaner - WD40 will do. Then insert and remove the plug several times to clean the contacts.
Mini plugs are notorious for getting scratchy with just a bit of corrosion on them.

If the plug is loose in the speaker jack on the sound card, then the jack may be broken. Try plugging it into another jack (like the microphoen jack) just to test the fit. If it's snug then the speaker jack is shot.
If it's still loose then something wacky is going on. I've seen some cheap plugs on speaker cables come apart -the tip will fall off and that will prevent it from locking into the jack.

its the plug in the back of the sub that gets the plug from the PC (actually hooked to my monitor/tv)
