I'm trying to scan a picture off this scanner but all I get is this purplish-blue image. what's wrong?

First thing I'd do is check the scanner connections to be sure all are in all the way. Other than that perhaps new drivers may help, if any are available. And try another scanner application to scan with.

If all fails and the scanner isn't real dirty, it may have just gone bad. But I'd try it on another system if you can to be sure. Good luck

I don't know if it is still the case or not, but some scanners used to come with a card that you had to scan to get all of the colors set. It was just a piece of paper with all kinds of different colors on it. Othere than that if all the cables are hooked up right, try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers like blade said.. GL!

Thanks for the help . I found the problem. The scanner bulb is toast. Unfortunately is doesn't look like I can get a replacement either. Oh well time for a new scanner. thanks again for help.
