Update on my problems

Well, I installed the new motherboard and I wouldn't exactly say it went flawlessly but its working now. When I first started it up it was doing the exact same thing (I was extremely upset!) I ended up updating the BIOS and it seems to be working fine now. I just got done playing about 2hr of BF1942 and didn't have a single hiccup.

Dunno what to think, but atleast I'm back up and running. I can now play BF1942 on 1024x768 maxxed out :) Where as before I got the RAM, I could only play on 800x600 medium everything. I also got a green cold cathode which is pretty sweet. Though I have to find a place to mount it  There really isn't much room in there and the only window I have right now is one on top and it's in smoked plexi so it's kinda dark (though it looks nice. So basically until I put a window on the side, its gonna be pretty pointless ;)

Just thought I'd let ya'll know.

what servers are you using for multiplayer in 1942?

A lot of time they are the EA servers I think. THe last server I was in was called "EA 6 blah blah." Usually I don't look for specific name though. If it gets decent ping and is in a good map I'll join.

Are you having connection problems or somethin'?

before you got your new mobo, did you try updating the BIOS??? That's really weird how you got the same problems before you updated on your recently bought mobo...

no probs, just learning the single player - how do you get out of a landing craft when you get to the beach?

Well, when you're on a big air-craft carrier you can either get below (if you follow along the sides you come to a ladder) and then take a boat -or- you can fly a plane to wherever you need to go. Default to get in/out of planes/boats/cars is "E" I believe.

And yeah nathaniel, it was messed up. I was about to take my computer and throw it in the lake but once I updated the BIOS all went well. I was scared while installing Win2k, I was just waiting for it to crash. Then when I finally got in Windows I was scared it would crash while I was customizing it, so I decided before i set up everything I would jump into a game of BF. I was scared it would lock before it even loaded but it loaded fine, then I was scared it would lock in game---nope.

Seems to be perfectly stable at this point. Odd, but I'm not complaining. And BTW, the BIOS on my old board is the latest, so I dunno if my old board is fine or not. I'll probably just sell it for like, $30 and let the buyer know it might be a little queer. Even if they spend $20 on RMA'ing it the'll be getting the board for $50 which is atleast $20 below retail.
