Just ordered some new goodies

Post by blade_146 »

Well I said what the hell I need some new stuff, hehe, you know how that is. So I went to newegg and got a WD 800JB with the 8m cache and a Lite-On 52/24/52 burner. Hmmmm those fast "backups" are gonna be sweet now. :) Anyone of you guys using the 8m cache hdd's? Whatcha think about 'em? I'll prolly get another when I get my scsi stuff sold and then maybe switch mobo's and get one with raid. I think 2 of those in Raid 0 should smoke. Look for a complete scsi package for sale soon :)

Yeah I have a WD1200JB SE in my Xbox. It seems fast enough. Never had it in a PC :D

Got my toys in yesterday but Newegg did a piss poor job of packing my hdd. It was barely in the bubble wrap, on the bottom of the box with maybe 20-30 peanuts to help protect. Needless to say the hdd wont detect. Spins up but nothing else. Got my RMA # so I get to wait longer I guess. This is the first time in 4 yrs that I've had something damaged in shipping. I guess I cant complain too much. :(
