I remember that there is a hitch in using big hds in certain circumstances - problems with the os or the bios recognizing it - i'm going to be installing a couple of 80 giggers, probably with 2x40gb partitions in pretty new systems running 2k - anything i need to look out for? TIA

137GB was the latest problem size. A 48-bit LBA addressed that problem. File systems can handle up to like 2TB or so, I think.

yea, I got a 200g hd in my system right now. I was Really pissed...I used to have an all scsi system and I went IDE for a few reasons, one was to get rid of cable clutter and to get rid of the scsi card...well I had to use a STUPID ata card with this hd...Very annoying.
