i knew i was missing something...
it is for a truck, and just so i can put in data CDs (holds lotta mp3's) and play them

gonna need a p166 or better i would say, a small or homade case, a dc to dc powersupply or inverter(inverter is cheaper but is the "jerry rigged") way to go.soundcard, and a deck that has inputs.
you can use mpxplay which is a dos player or good ole winamp as a shell in 95 or 98. ir remote or keypad for control, some use a 4x 40 charactor lcd to a 7inch tft, just depends on thr bread you wanna spend

my bud has a setup it is

duron 800
win 2k
cobra 3 software
5 inch tft with touchscreen controls
40 gig hd

he plays mp3s, watches dvds, plays ut, and uses gps and MS streets and trips all off the same unit, also his dreamcast plugs into the screen as well
