Here's a tip to quiet your system...

I bought 3 of these Antec 80mm Smart Fans:

They have a temp sensor and automatically adjust their speed based on the temp:

They're no good for intake fans (the sensor would detect the cooler air being sucked in from outside and run the fan at the slowest speed. They're meant to be used as exhaust fans.

I replaced the back exhaust fan in my powersupply with one, and I also replaced the fan on my AX7 heatsink with another.

The system is definately a bit quieter, although the temps are the same. I also notice the fans are running a little slower (and quieter) when I'm working on the desktop as opposed to gaming.

It also quiets down a lot when I put the rig in sleep mode at night.

Only down side is that my mobo (Iwill XP333) doesn't like the pulses the fans put out for RPM. BIOS and MBM both get erratic RPM reading from them (I can get a fairly reliable reading in MBM by sliding the fan-type setting slider all the way to the right).

I snagged a couple of 80mm Enermax fans with the temp sensor on a wire so you can put it anywhere.

I'm probably going to end up putting one as an exhaust fan, with the sensor sitting on my video card heatsink :)

Very quiet too!

Same erratic reading here too.
