some 'tard from school keeps sending me messages to my computer using microsofts messenger service and it's kicking me out of games when I'm playing. For some reason my firewall isn't even noticing it (sygate currently). Is there anyway to block the guy sending it to me?

I don't even know how to use the program really, I always thought it was "start->run->netsend" but that isn't working, unless you have to install it somewhere along the way.

well 8 people so far have looked so they are probably curious on the answer. Found it after a little searching:
To turn off the messenger service:

Right click on My Computer and select Manage. Then click on Services and Applications and it will expand to show you the Services key. Select Services and a list will appear in the right windows. Scroll down the list until you see Messenger. Double Click on Messenger and a new window will open. Change Startup from Automatic to Manual or Disabled and also Press Stop service. The PC can no longer receive net send messages.

To send a message just type "net send (computer name) your message" I use it at work when I have to reboot the server during working hours.

We had a goob at work who thought it was "cute" to send secret admirer messages to the girls when he found out you could do that. He only did it twice before he got fired.

Thats interesting. See, I always thought it poped up a box and you could select the computer, ect. This guy is just typing in my comcast computer name and is able to get the message across that way... ...which I think is stupid. I guess it is not restricted to LANs as I once thought. Atleast now I know how to disable it so he can't screw with me anymore.

just disable your network card or unplug the cable from your pc. that stops hackers ALL the time! :p
