Win 2k AS help, please

Hello once again everyone,
I have a little problem with my apartment network at the moment. I have a win 2k Advanced Server box set up as the server and everything worked fine for awhile till our puppy got ahold of the network cable running from my room to my roommate's and chewed it up twice....I refused to buy anymore 50 ft. network cables again, so my roommate picked up some of those Phoneline network adapters. My problem is that I use ICS to route the connection to my computer and it used to do the same for his computer. However, I refuse to get one of the phoneline connectors for my computer, as I don't want to pay the money for one. So, I am still on the old network using ICS and it is working fine still. However, ICS does not support sharing to more than one "network" so to speak. Does anyone know anything else to try, besides setting up a proxy server for his connection alone? If I must setup a proxy server, anyone have one to recommend? I think if I installed XP, I could bridge the two connections and it would work, right? Is there not a way to "bridge" connections in 2000? If so, I have missed it. I was sure someone on here would have an option for me to try. If you need any more information, I will be willing to post anything else.
On a side note...I recently upgraded to IE 6.0 on my XP box and it automatically updates Outlook Express, also. Now, whenever I open up Outlook Express, it locks up my machine and brings my processor usage up to 100%. Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon? It is really making me angry, as I don't know how to uninstall the update, since I did it thru Windows Update and there is not a place in the Add/Remove control panel that I can find to get rid of it. Anyone have any ideas on this? I was lucky to be able to figure out that it was the update that caused it, because I was stumped before. I usually have about 4-5 programs open at once, so I couldn't narrow it down. But today, I just happend to reboot and open Outlook while nothing else was open...and it froze with nothing else open, so I am pretty sure it is the update causing the problems.
Thanks for any help that you can provide,
Matt
