"I meant the second, that they won't be releasing any more new soundcards, but i don't know if they're going to stop manufacturing the current model of TBSC's or not (i think they will). The rep guy i talked to said he was dissapointed about it too. He said the reason is they think the market is changing and they're changing their focus (audiotron type devices i assume).
Basically, they're stepping out of the soundcard market."

I hear what you are saying Greg. That people want something decent without spending a lot. That c-media integrated sound on the mobo's does the job.

Some of us don't wanna be an average PC user though. :o

Turtle Beach has been in the sound card business for a while. And they make good products.

Philips has probably worse drivers than Creative. :S
They just released a respin of their soundcards without the drivers for the old ones being good.

from nvnews.net forums:
"I read on the Hecules Forum that the reason they switched to the other chip os because the CS4630 is not available anymore." That would tie in with no more Santa Cruz's.

Hey, what happened to the motherboard that had the 6jbxx tube for the audio?
or whatever the tube was...That was a stroke in the right direction that got shot down....bummer, I wouuld have liked to have seen it at least explored further.
