How to enable ALiAGP on an Iwill XP333 mobo WITHOUT RivaTuner

RivaTuner right now won't properly enable ALiAGP using any of the latest Det drivers. Besides, RivaTuner is a bit awkward to use.

There's a simple registry hack to enable AGP mode on XP333 mobos using NVidia cards. Also, there's an easy way to find out if AGP mode is enabled or not. Got this courtesy of the AMDmb IWill forum.

Also, a note for dual monitor users when both video cards are NVidia cards - alfter installing the 2nd card you need to reinstall the drivers for the first card again or AGP mode will be disabled on XP333 mobos (the registry settings listed below will only appear for the card that was the LAST to have drivers installed on dual NVidia systems). Just went through that when I changed my secondard display from a Savage4 to a Geforce2 MX and noticed my performance had dropped:

First what you have to do is run the 3DMark program. Open system info. Then look for display devices, click the plus. it will list your video info. If your total AGP memory is 0 mb then ALiAGP is disabled. That means you have to enable The ALiAGP.

Q. Why can't I enable AGP under WinXP/Win2000? or Why is it that my M/B performance using Nvidia VGA card is poor?

A. Nvidia driver 27.XX ( and later version) will disable the M1647 AGP function on all Nvidia VGA card under WinXP and Win2000.

To solve this issue, please follow the procedure below:

1) If you are using TNT2 ,Geforce256, Geforce 2 GTS, Geforce 2 Ultra, and Geforce 2 MX (200/400)

Under WinXP and SP1, we recommend you use Windows Inbox VGA driver or Nvidia Detonator driver 23.11.
Under Win 2000 , we recommend you use Nvidia Detonator driver 23.11.
2) If you are using Geforce3, Geforce 4 and others which are not listed above, or if you really want to use new Nvidia Detonator drivers. You must add a key to enable AGP.

1. run Regedit
2. Find this path

WinXP:
[Hkey_Local_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Video\ {********-****-****-****-*********}\0000\

Win2000:
[Hkey_Local_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Controset001\Services\nv\device0]

(Note :The GUID may not matched because this will also depend on the video card and VGA driver version.)

3. If you have followed the procedure correctly, you will find the following:

Name...........................Type.................Data
Device Description.......REG_SZ.........NVIDIA VGA card

4. Add this :

Name............................Type...............................Data
Enablealiagp............REG_BINARY...................01 00 00 00

Look in all the ControlSetXXX keys (if you have more than one) and change them.

5. Restart system
