I'm trying to setup a dialup on a Win2K system to dial into an SBS 4.5 server.

I need to enable NetBios over TCP/IP BUT there is no such option on WINS tab in the DUN dialer settings. It's not there all.

It's there on an XP system I've also configured, but not on the Win2K system. This is a pristine Win2K install. WTF?

I'm wracking my brains to remember if there's something special you have to do to get this option, but I can't think of it and even MS Knowledgebase is worthless (it says the option should be there).

Any help?

Brain.... not.... working....

Well here's the problem, this: selection:

is available in the Local Area Network connection settings but NOT in the dial-up settings.

The "NetBios over TCP/IP" setting is GONE not just grayed out. This is apparenlty normal on a fresh Win2K install because I've found the same thing on several Win2K systems.

However, on an XP system I have here, the "NetBios over TCP/IP" IS available in the dial-up settings.

Without it I can't resolve network names. I can browse the server using it's IP address but not it's network name.

I'm stumped....
