I was swaping drives left and right and I went to format my D:\ partition and it took me up until 14% until I realized, thats not my partition--that is my music drive!!! I freaked and restarted real quick. I was scared I lost my 13gig of music, so I installed Win98SE real quick (thats how I'm talkin' now) to see if my music was accesable (I could see all the songs in DOS) so I clicked on a couple of 'em.....

....and they worked fine :D WTF!!! hahhahaa I own you format.exe

I'd say the format gods were on your side.......... this time. Next time I predict the slightest little hicup in your computer will cause it to be turned into an expensive toater. :D

You may want to run a scandisk on that drive. You probably got lucky and it hadn't yet wiped the volume table of contents, but there may be some trashed files or bad cluster links.

Yep, I did that and it all checked out fine. What I'm wondering is what in the hell was it doing then? :) I am damn lucky though... ...I about threw my PC out the window when I realized I was formatting the wrong drive

You tell me :) I ran scandisk right after that incident and nothin' came up bad. I've been listening to my MP3's for about 3-4 days now and have not ran into one that is messed up :) I think what happened was format.exe realized the mistake I made so it was just kidding when it asked 'are you sure you want to format y/n?' ;)
