I'm looking for a 19 inch monitor for my gaming PC. Any suggestions ? I'm looking for a monitor around $300. I wanted to buy the NEC MultiSync 95 but couldn't find out where to buy it.

I bought a KDS 19" at Office Depot for $299. Since then I have read about a lot of people having problems with KDS monitors failing. It seems that they have a lot of defects but are real good about replace them. I have had mine for about 6 months with no problems and I am very pleased with it. Crossing my fingers and hoping it doesn't die

Does the Mag Innovision 800v have the anti-glare and anti-static treatment?

Hipnotic_Tranz, indeed it looks like a nice monitor....but it's way out of my price range. I would buy it but i'm buying the Klipsch ProMedia v.2-400 so I can only afford a monitor around $300 if I want both.

I just ordered the Samsung 955DF http://samsungelectronics.com/products/ ... 5df_1.html
from Onvia.com for $297.94 shipped. I have this same monitor at work and it looks great, so I ordered it for my girlfriend for a late Christmas gift. Hope this helps and Happy Holidays to all!

Sorry Kazer, didn't read that you had a limit, heh. I guess I should actually "read" the posts, huh? haha. Well, I still recommend it if you get the cash :)

It's all good Hipnotic_Tranz, don't worry about it. If I was still working I could afford it but I only work on christmas.

I was looking at the monitors you guys referred to me, so many good ones I couldn't decide. Then I bumped into the Viewsonic GS790. I think I will buy this one, it looks really ncie for the price. The cheapest I could find it was for $360 though. If someone knows where I can buy it for less please let me know.

Thanks for the help guys.

Try the Samsung 955DF, very nice monitor, it's 100% flat, just like your desk, it's excellent quality for the price you are paying for.

Ughhh. DON'T buy a Samsung ANYTHING.

I'm an IT Engineer and I've seen a LOT of products. Samsung makes budget drives and budget monitors. The life expectancy of a Samsung monitor is usually measured in months - very cheap power supply components.

FP, are you sure? I have a Samsung 15GLE(over 5 years old), it's working perfect since 1995. I am now using a Samsung 19" 900SL, perfect for over 6months now. My company is now using over 20 Samsung 750s 17" monitor, a couple of 19" 900IFT for over 6 months, zero defective so far. My company also have over 10 Samsung 32x CD-ROM for over 1.5 years, non defective. I have a Samsung APS camera, works perfect, I have a Samsung Camcorder, Zero problem with very good video quality, I am also using a Samsung 8x DVD-ROM Drive, again, perfect! I don't work for Samsung, but I do think they offer excellent quality products at a very very good price.

On the other hand, My company bought 3 Viewsonic 21", all 3 of them had DEAD PIXEL! Located near the centre of the screen, and they will only replace one of them. So do you call Viewsonic good or bad?

BTW, if life expectancy of a Samsung monitor is measured in months, how do they provide 3 years warranty?

Everything above are all true and based on my personal experience. I don't plan to argue on it, everyone may have different opinions... :argue
