Howdy all. I am going to be wiring an office for a friend and I need to get some supplies to make the network cables. Can someone point me to a good place to get cable, connectors, and the tools? Would Cat5e cable be cheaper at some place like Home Depot? TIA.

I'd like to get everything from one place and they don't have any crimpers. Would some place like Radio Shack be a good place to check? If the price difference between local and internet isn't too great, I would be willing to pay. Any other suggestions?

Thanks.

Depends on where you are located. My local Lowes is the cheapest in my area for networking supplies. Including crimpers. (Stumbled on this fact by accident)... ;)

Home Depot also has pretty good prices on network hardware. Especially cable.

check at compgeeks and see if they still have that special going - listed in hot deals here - i got 1000 ft of cat 5, crimpers, ends , testers, etc for like 60 shipped

also try a local electrical supply place - here they are like .o3 ft cheaper than lowes

You might also want to check Graybar. This is where we get all our network supplies from.
