big dilemma help me make a decision

Post by bangbangben »

Alrighty, im going P4, I decided to try something new, heres what I can get:
Soltek SL85DRS2
P4 1.6 guaranteed at 2.1
256 PC2100

or this:
Asus P4S533
P4 1.8a

they are both around the same price here in canada, and I have decided on one of these 2 options, I already have 256 DDR, should I up it to 512 and get a 2.1gig P4, or go for the gold with a 2.4+ and get mroe DDR later???

If I had 2 choose between those to I would go for the first one.

thats what I was leaning towards to...... 512 ddr is prolly better than the extra 300 FSB and only 256 DDR

I'd go for the 1.6A and the 512 MB of RAM. My 1.6A has been running solid at 2.24 GHz (140 FSB) for the last couple of months using the stock Intel heatsink and fan. I'm not familiar with Soltek motherboards so I can't help you there. I'm using the Asus P4B266-C and am very happy with it.
