I have heard about the PSU that supports the P4 but i wasnt to sure about the AMD? ;) oh no, the second question was, if i have a sdr operated vid card will that work? im new to the DDR ram... sdr only for me till now :)

Any new PSU of at least 350W you can get by with a 300 but 350's aren't much more and leave room for expanding in the future. All PSU's aer P4 and AMD rated anymore. The P4 part is just the 12v plug which AMD don't use... so don't even worry about it...

I have got a Dragon + with an XP 1700+. When I first put the system together I had an Antec 300 watt power supply. It ran the system but it was marginal. The 5v rail would dip down to 4.75. This is with 2 hdd a DVD and CD Burner and 4 case fans. I went for an Aopen 400 watt supply and it has been all good since then. Like Predator said a 350 watt will probably do ya but if you are going to have a lot of drives and fans you might want to go with a 400 watt.

The video memory and system memory are two different things. You can have a mobo running DDR and have a video card running SDR memory with no problem at all.

I used a 300W Fortron Source on my system below for 7 months. Never had a issue with too little power. Also had a 4th disk in for a while and 3 usb units hooked up (printer, scanner and joystick). I also oc'd it to 1700+ (145fsb) without any prob.

However, i would recommend a 350W. Only reson i got myself a 430 was becuz i thought it would run colder and more silent than my 300W. I was wrong. But i don't have to worry about the psu working too hard anyway :)
