I'm just about to move into a new apartment and I am thinking about setting up a new rig to use as a home server. It doesn't need to be anything big and fancy, I'll be using my laptop for most of my work. The new machine will more than likely sit beside my desk and be used as a file/web server, under network control. I was looking at the VIA mini-ITX (800Mhz) machines and thought that they might fit the bill pretty well espically considering that they are nice and small which is a BIG plus. Before I go jumping into a new system though I thought I'd ask you guys and see if you has any other suggestions for a VERY small machine. Retailor websites are also welcome. Thanks guys.

I've seen those Shuttle mini PC's but there was just something about them I didn't like... I dunno I just don't like the way they look I guess.

I did take a look at the Dell slim machines the problem is that I don't want/need a monitor, mouse, keyboard, etc. I just want the machine and as far as I know there is no way that dell will sell you just the machine without all the perepherials.

there are a couple different shuttle boxes. they got the sv24/25, ss40/50 I think those are the ##'s. THey will Also be releasing one based on the new Nforce2 chipset. There is also the Gbox which is a very neet box.

http://www.so-trickcomputers.com/Mercha ... ry_Code=C2 They sell some of them + other very slim cases and small form facter Mboards.

I like the look of the shuttle sv-25 my self over the newer ones that have the Plastic fronts.
