I have tried to play Deus Ex and Jedi Knight ll and i have also dloaded all the newest drivers for my voodoo2... Is this a problem with XP or OpenGL. I even tried this OpenGL thingy by Realtech VR. My Glide Is working fine. I loaded up Quake lll just to see what would happen and it worked fine..I think i need to upgrade my Vid Card.. any pointers would be helpfull. Thanks,

There is no official support or drivers for ANY Voodoo card running under WinXP. Everything out there is a hacked driver.

I've heard that there are some hacked V2 drivers for XP, but performance is problematic with most modern games. Let's face it, 3Dfx is gone and there's no tech division to tweak the drivers for new games and OSes.

Deus Ex is a D3D game, JK2 is OpenGL. Even if you got it working NEITHER of these games would run at anything over 10 FPS on a V2 even with all the eye candy cranked down.

I'd use the V2 for your old Glide games and get a decent primary card that does OpenGL and D3D (I assume your primary card doesn't?). Heck any cheapie TNT2 card would far outperform that V2. Better yet a Geforce2 MX.

What are your system specs? I'm curious why you don't have any 3D support in your primary video card. Is this a very old system?

Well i was into computers when we had a commadore Vic 20 and i was into programming them. I think i was about 14. I have also been a ham since i was 14. The kinda techie young type.

Anyway, I had gotten out of computers and into Gals . Then after i got married i got back into them. I went to my old friends house and he had this awsome PC setup and i asked him to build me one. He bout most of the stuff from traders in here and the other parts were leftover from his ugrades. I was getting his seconds. Well now i have the money to buy a nice setup. So here i am. I hope to have a Soyo Dragon and a 1700+ from Nascarfan.

At the moment im running a Aureal Vortex 2 AGP vid card w/ a Voodoo2 accelerator. The MB is a Asus PV3 4x with a Plll 800 MHZ. In about 2 weeks, i hope this all changes. I was just curious to what i could do to make this work for the moment. We got a private server up for JKll and was wanting to play tonight. Sorry for my life history, but i thought i would explain the situation.

Decent enough system there if you upgraded the vid card. I'm running a P3-1000 with a Geforce3 Ti-500 and there's nothing I've played that doesn't run sweet.
