Let's get some traffics here everyone!

Let start by saying something like Intel Sucks, AMD forever! :)

But really, Intel do suck... the P4 - 1.5Ghz is disappointing... anyone going to get it?

Noooooooo way! I wouldn't touch that P4 1.5Ghz even if I had that much money...AMD is far superior.

No way.

Yep Thunderbird Athlons are a much greater bang for the buck. Next year will be the time to build a DDR T-Bird system.

To us, it make a lot of sense going with AMD, but think of all those stupid marketing that Intel is going to BS about... The mass consumer will never ever know the truth! All they care is that the P4 is 1.5Ghz and AMD is only 1.2Ghz, therefore AMD sucks. And those extremely stupid computer sales is going to BS even more! Personally I just can't stand it when a company do stuff like that...

Starting to hate Intel even though I am using a Celeron :)

Let's just hope this P4 will make the P3 1G go down in price... like around $150, then I will start to love Intel again :D

BTW, there is a review at http://www.anandtech.com already, go read about it if you haven't already, basically it tells you how Intel sucks.

AMD...

I just built my first Athlon system by request of my father-in-law's, and I gotta admit that I was truly impressed. That was the smoothest system build, no glitches in the setup at all ;) .

I'm still running a P3 600E, P3 700E, and 466 Celeron, but my next system is probably going to be a T-Bird simply due to the price and performance.

Yeah I don't see any compelling reason to get a P4 either. But by the time I upgrade CPUs again (next fall probably) it may be that the P4 has scaled to such high clock speeds that they become impressive. Also there were rumors that good quality DDR will be rather expensive once the ddr mobos hit retail channels. We'll see I guess. Personally I am waiting to see how Micron's DDR chipsets work out. I trust them to make a solid chipset much more than I trust Via

I'm very curious to see what the t-bird is all about. One of these days I'm going to get off my lazy ass, sell off my Intel stuff and put together an AMD machine. Too many people say they love theirs for me not to join the ranks.

P4 bah... No need for me to upgrade yet (I hope!) Running a P3 at 805 and a Geforce DDR --that should last at least a year. By then the problems with the P4, DDR chipsets and all that are hopefully ironed out. Of course, theres always AMD ;)

I have been a loyal Intel user but I wont touch the P4.If I were going to build a system anytime soon it would surely be a T-Bird rig.I still might decide to replace my P3 650e@820/BE6-II setup for a AMD combo when those DDR boards start rolling out.
