Hi All

I have a whole bunch of 72 pin simms and some edo dimms how do I determine the capacities of these ram modules?

1 of the simms has 36 chips on it in double rows on each side of the module but it says nothing on it anywhere about size or any identifying numbers

I'm guessing these are parity modules but how do I determine the individual chips density

With no markings, you will most likely need to install them in an older machine to find the size.

That or if you have any idea what type PC they came out of, try going to crucial.com and try using their ram identifier. I'd think that at that site, you should be able to click around at a few selections (based on a guessed PC) and find something that used 72 pins.
I'd also guess that by now, unless you still have a machine that uses it, that stuff's probably worthless.
I have some old ram from 2 older machines and I don't even know why I havent pitched it yet. If you're considering selling price, it's probably not worth the S&H when you consider that you can buy a new 256mb PC-133 simm for $28 shipped.
