I have a sony cd-rw, and a cyber drive cd-rw. I had problems with my cd-r's trying to burn as an image file. I have burned on both before and somehow they just start burning as an image file. I have tried NTI cd maker, Easy cd creator, Nero 5 and more and they still burn as image files.. It has me stumped.. thanks, Clint

Not sure I understand. What are trying to do - make a copy of a CD?
In Nero for example, what procedure are you selecting? You should select Copy CD.
If you have two drives then you should be able to make a direct copy from one to the other.
If you read and burn from the same drive then the software will make a image file by default (read to an image and then burn from the image).
In some programs (like Nero) there's an option to always copy to an image first and then burn even if using 2 drives (this is more reliable on older systems and burners without buffer underrun protection).
In most of these programs you have the option of deleting the image when the project is done, or leaving it on the drive (in case you want to make another copy later).
Make sure your software is detecting all your drives. Some newer drives may not be detected without updating the software. Sony for instance seems to do something pretty non-standard with their CD-RW drive designs because most software will NOT detect a new Sony model until an update comes out. Nero is usually quickest with an update.
Hope this helps...

Thanks Flying Penguin. When i try to burn a mp3 cd, either copy cd to cd or mp3 to cd.
Ill try the update for nero and see if that works. Thanks for your time Flying Penguin. Clint.
