I have a K7VZM (duron mobo). Basically, when I have my headphones plugged in (not using speakers), I can't hear anything. Well, actually, when I put in a CD and blasted up the volume, I could VERY FAINTLY hear the CD. I've also tried playing wav files and such...I'm using the onboard sound. Could this be an IRQ conflict, something be shorting out? I have no clue. Yes, all the volume settings are up in Windows....but I'm stumped. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in Advance...

Do you get sound through the speakers?
Could just be a bad line on the headphones, or try re-inserting it. Sometimes static will interfere. Or try different drivers.

Clarify.
Do you have good sound on speakers but not the headphones, or you only have phones and no speakers?
Is this a sound card or onboard sound chipset?
If you have a mixer control on the status bar, you have your sound card listed in Multimedia settings in control panel under preferred devices, and you can select sound effects in the Control Panel sound icon, then the drivers are installed properly.
You sure your headphones work - tried them on a walkman or something?
Some headphone have a volume control.
You sure you have the sound turned up in the Windows mixer? Make sure the master, wave, midi and CD volumes are all at 75% (you NEVER want them full up).
Could be the preamp in the audio chip is dead.
Cound be bad drives (doubtful but possible). Make sure you have the latest drivers either from the audio card manufacturer's web site, or (if it's an onboard chipset) from the motherboard manufacturer's web site.
Hope this helps...
