OK, I pulled 3 cards from an old Gateway. It had a 60mhz Pentium I and was made in 95.

If you find info easy, please be aware I haven't had time to search on these, I am asking, and than going to do some searching...

Here's a pic of the sound card:

And the chip:

Any ideas on what it is? And how much its worth? :D

Here's the Video card. I think it's an S3.. :D If I wanted, would this be a good test video card, or would AGP work better? Pic of the card:

The chip:

I also have a modem, its a crappy US Robotics one (as in SLOW), here's the chip:

Here are some sticks of something... I think these first two pics are ram, and the second two are cache?

Sound card and video cards are very standard. That's a Creative Vibra 16. Probably any version of Windows from 98SE on up will have generic drivers, or go to Creative's site.

Most versions of windows will have generic S3 video drivers as well. If not, look here: http://www.driverguide.com/

Not a very good picture of the modem, but only US Robotics uses those BIG speakers. That many chips it should be a hardware modem. Just plug it in, and Windows should identify it as a standard modem.

Then do a diagnostic on it from the Modem wizard in Control Panel, and the status reply should tell you the model. Then you can go to http://www.driverguide.com/ or USR's website and get the correct INF file (although it shoudl work fine as a generic standard modem).

That S3 card is a decent 2D card for a server. I use to have a whole bunch of them about 3 years ago and unloaded them on ebay for 30 each :)
