Refresh rate fix for latest Detonator drivers?

I'm still running the 23.11 drivers because the NVidia Refresh Rate Fix utility doesn't support the latest drivers.

I just checked the website and there's no new version of the refresh rate fix.

Anyone have another fix?

Thanx...

Doesn't seem to work under Win2K with 28.32.... :(

"No compatible Detonator driver found".

That is weird works fine on my XP box with the 28.32 drivers. Maybe the computer gods are trying to make you switch to XP :D

Just went to his website - Win2K support is broken. Might be a new version in the next day or two.

Meanwhile, 28.32 TOTALLY trashed my system. I made the mistake of enabling the new NView feature for multimonitor. Made my control panel lockup and inaccessible :(

I think it may not have liked the fact that Ultramon was running.

Took me an hour to totally remove all driver files and reinstall the previous version, and I'm still having shutdown problems. May have to restore from my last good Win2K partition Ghost image.

Well at least you have a good ghost image. Ghost has saved my bacon more times than I can count dont know what I would do without it.

Did you try the one I posted FP? Worked like a charm for me...

TUNIS: That's the same one Dad sent me. It has problems with Win2K. Author is aware of it and a new release is imminent.

Well I fixed the system so I didn't need to restore it from the Ghost image, but it was a bear to fix it. I had to manually remove the NVidia .CPL file that was crashing the Control Panel, remove the Nvidia driver from Safe Mode (couldn't access control panel in normal Windows), delete all NVidia registry entries, then re-install the 23.11 driver.

WARNING TO ULTRAMON2 USERS: Don't enable nView in the new Detonator drivers.

Actually, what seemed to really kill it was when I enabled nView's feature that DRAMATICALLY speeds up how fast windows and menus open and close. It self destructed after that. Nice feature though. nView seems to have most of the features that UltraMon2 does, and several extra BUT it seems to have a large resource footprint compared to UltraMon, and I still like Ultramon better.

Well I guess I'll wait until someone comes up with a refresh fix for Win2K that works and then I'll try again.

Yeah, Norton Ghost is my hero. It's bailed me out of trouble several times. I have a Ghost image of my Win2K partition after a clean install and all basic apps installed that's my ultimate resort if I want to restrore to a very clean setup. I also make a Ghost image every month of my 98, Win2K and data partitions (me, paranoid? Nah...). I know I have a good stable Ghost image of my Win2K partition form 3 months ago I made right before installing my second video card.

Ok the NVRefresh toll v 0.75b is out and works finally for me in W2K. I like it better than Refreshlock since it is not memory resident. Here the link Grab it here !

Yup, got it yesterday and tried it with the latest drivers on my LAN party rig. Works fine. I'll install it on my workstation later today. :)

RivaTuner has always had the refresh fix for the latest versions of the Detonator's, so thats what I use. Plus it has nifty stuff like overclocking and various tweaks =)
