Printer irratant, all do this too (rant)

Ever since I've used any PC anywhere, I can't help but notice that all PC printers print at least one worthless page of wasted paper which to me is just BS! There's always a last page that's 99% blank with just a few minor, worthless letters at the top like "page 4, last page" followed by other worthless print.
Maybe non-solveable but does anyone know of any possible settings that might stop this waste of paper? Sure, not a big deal, not really a problem, but when I think of the fact that every time I print almost anything that's more than one page, there's at least 1 piece that goes right into the trash.

I've done that too but it'd be nice if one didn't have to do that. Maybe I'm dreaming? :)

Did you check to see if you have a seperator page on in the printer options? It may also depend on the printer. If I used an auto A/B box with my Lexmark OptraEp I would always get a junk page. Ever sinced I networked it, the junk page went away. Crappy drivers!! :(

just wondering. if its a word or text file, do you delete all the hard returns and page breaks after your last sentence? printers read those as characters and will print them too.

I've looked into the entries listed above but see no printer options for a seperator page setting. As for the last entry, this occurs whenever I'm printing anything really and I do no editing, just hit "print" and that's that. My printer here is an older HP Deskjet 722C (which is shared in my home network) and still works fine for my purposes, just that I'll always get those BS pages.
