I have seen several posts metion newegg, so I went to look.

Anyone buying from them? Happy? Had problems?

I'm looking to see what they have that I am planning to buy elsewhere anyway.

As far as i'm concerned its the best place online to buy computer related products... Sometimes you can find stuff cheaper elsewhere but you'll pay more for shipping so it balances out... I've spent over 5000 with them the last year for system builds and have yet had any trouble with them. Had to RMA one Athlon XP1700+ and it was smooth with no hassles. Don't hesitate to buy from newegg.

I am looking at them now.

Looks like they might be a little less expensive on some stuff I bought elsewhere already. checking between the two sites now.

I seem to like them so far, but how do they handle the shipping charges? Are they pretty good about packing it all together and cutting the shipping costs, alot?

They seem to have a better selection of stuff, but each item has a chipping cost listed. They don't charge you a total of them added together do they?

I've seen lots of things around to up prices, that's why I ask.

I've been paying $7 for shipping up to 150 pounds, of course I never buy that much computer parts at once. But newegg had about $6 listed to shipp a $6 tube of artic silver heat compound. Seems kinda High, but then I see cases with $15 shipping which don't seem to bad.

So how have they handled your shipping? Pack the compound and case in a box and only charge the $15, or add it together and charge the $21??

thanks

From my experiences with newegg, they will cram as much into one package as possible. i have had some problems with them shipping the wrong item and even more problems getting them to clear it up. they are one of the cheapest places around though and do ship fairly quickly. It's all a crapshoot with online vendors.

I myself have ordered parts for 4 systems from them, and I have never had any problems. The stuff has always been packed very well, and arrived very quickly (within a week). They also have some of the most reasonable shipping charges on the Internet. I recently priced a complete system there (sans monitor), and regular shipping was around $45. Overnight was $83. That is an excellent deal for overnight shipping of so much equipment.

Of course they are bound to make a mistake every now and then, but for the most part people seem quite happy with newegg.

I placed my first order with New Egg last week after checking several other online stores. The prices at New Egg are usually the lowest, although to me some of the shipping charges for some items seem kind of high. ($6.00 for a tube of Artic Silver) My order was a fairly large one and the total shipping charges were actually lower than what I had calculated using the shipping charges shown for each item. Also, the order arrived in less than a week and I got exactly what I ordered.

I will continue to buy from New Egg.

I've ordered a whole system from them and the shipping was 35. I always use the fed ex saver and usually get it in 2 days. Their fast with their shipping it almost always goes out the next day.

Never had any problems, same day shipping if the order gets in before like 3PM EST or so. Shipping, IMO, was not too much. Low prices and good status updates. I've only dealt with new egg and webuildpcs.com and well new egg is SO much better. Never buy from webuildpcs.com. Shipping is kind of weird sometimes. I ordered a heatsink/fan combo and a processor and they shipped seperately, but they were from different warehouses so....
