Man what a pain... I'm tryin' to setup my server for an FTP. What do i need to do in the router to make it work? My cable modem gets one IP and the computers on the router get another... How do i direct the router to the server so that when someone is tryin' to connect to the FTP it gets the right computer and the NAT lets them through the port? Its running DHCP right now so i'm assuming i'll have to disable that and assign each computer an IP address?

ahh piss on it... don't know WTF is going on... I set the router so DHCP was off... set the comps with a static IP they went fine had net connection... Server wouldn't do shit... screwed with it and screwed with it and still won't do shit... put everything back to dhcp and 2 comps are up and server aint' working piss on it all... think the cable is bad but i don't feel like screwing with the other 2 comps pulling cables and this and that to find out... All i know is that XP is a miserable bitch to configure network settings with... it thinks it has to do everything for you... Why microshit can't just let you do what the fvck u want to do with you OS which u bought is beyond me... I guess if you could configure it they'd have no need for tech support which don't know shit 99% of the time anyways.... {end rant}

You need to setup the FTP server on DMZ which exposes it directly to the Internet.

If you have a Linksys router, this article explains: http://ns2.rbsnet.net/support/linksysinfo.htm
