Recently we installed a pci to usb adapter, tested, into a used machine, 300mz k62,128mb, XP.....To test the usb I plugged in a set of speakers, you could hear the sound but very very low.I looked into system hardware devices and the usb port connection had a yellow exclamation..tried uninstalling, reinstalling, both software and hardware,tried other hardware.tried moving to another pci slot, it recognazes it and then says cannot start this device??? I am out of answers and hair to pull out!!! anyone have a suggestion short of the trash can????

What mobo/chipset?
You might want to give the USB-Filter a try when it is a VIA board -> http://www.viaarena.com/?PageID=71
What does the webpage from the PCI-USB card manufacturer say about compatability? Do they have extra drivers?
