Hi all
The ABIT BH6 when launched a couple of years ago was a Celeron/PII board. Now on their site it is listed as PIII and CeleronII compatible after Bios upgrade, nothing is mentioned about PIIs anymore...weird. But since I know the PII lworks in it the question is: Does the PIII. Anubody know or have any experience with this?
I kow there are two revision rreleases of this board, but both are listed as PIII boards and not PII...
Cheers

Well i have the BH6 v. 1.01 (the firs one) myself. Flashed up to the SS BIOS and is now running a Celeron2 @850MHz. No problem whatsoever. The celeron2 i a crippeld PIII(coppermine) so i don't see why it shouldn't work. I have heard some people say it works and others say it don't. I beleive with the SS BIOS it will work fine. Can't guarantee it though...

Abit BH6
The Abit site states the BH6 will officially support a P-III 700 MHz CPU.
Now, I don't know that much about computers, but wouldn't an 800 MHz CPU work also since the board supports an 8x multiplier and a 100 MHz FSB?
I was wondering the same thing about my Abit BX6r2, it has offical support for the P-IIIs up to a 700 MHz CPU, but I'm running my Celeron 533A at 800 MHz.

P3 here
I finally (2 months ago) pulled out my trusty Celeron 300a @450MHz, and installed a PIII 600MHz CPU. Works great and it's identified properly by the bios. All you need to do is flash the bios and your set. Mine is a slot one CPU.
If it's a slot 1 PIII 600, it's officially supported by the BH6 rev. 1.01. The coppermines (FCPGA) are not officially supported though people are still running them on a slotket.
With the SS BIOS u get up to 12x multiplier, wich in theory will let u run a PIII 1200MHz didn't say it'll work though... If PIII prices wen't down by a LOT, i would pick up a PIII 1GHz and stuff it in... if it works, GREAT! If not... well change th f***ing mobo.
