Yea, they have been trying to get this through for years now. Personally, I'm not running scared.

Wheee, SSSCA ... step number 2 after the DMCA, nothing me likes ... but also nothing I can influence being in Europe.

Actually they have a fairly good chance of getting it through.
UCITA made it through two states before enough people listened and actually cared to take a look at it. The RIAA has a LOT more money to burn than UCITA did. And they are batting 1000% thus far in court. Most people probably figure it will be struck down by the courts if passed, but that takes years. Meanwhile people have lives to live with little time for 'causes'.
If passed, I wonder if the hardware will have a signal it sends out should I disable the stinker, telling the cops where to find me. Wouldn't come as a surprise.

i wrote to my senator already and signed the petition awhile back. send letter to your senator.
