okay i upgraded the firmware and and when i use dmz i still cannot create half life servers nor transfer files thru messanger programs. okay but when i use port forwarding and dmz on one of my computers ip address i can create a game. but when i only use port forwarding it does not work and when i only use DMZ it does not work the only way i can get it to work is if i i use the dmz and the port forwarding.
shouldnt the pc hosting the dmz be able to create the halflife server?

this is linksys router BEFSR41V.2 i called tech support and they told me there experience high call volume.

i wanna create two servers one for globalwarfare and the other one cs server

were you able to create servers before updating your firmware? i haven't tried upgrading mine since all is working fine so far. (don't wanna mess it up)

not too sure about half life either. haven't played that in a while. i do have no problems with icq, hosting quake3 games, etc. i can also get these running without making any changes (opening, forwarding ports).

i'll try and host a half-life server and see what happens when i get home.

I believe you have to use DMZ and port forwarding. Here's a detailed walk thru: http://ns2.rbsnet.net/support/linksysinfo.htm

This is for setting up an FTP server behind a Linksys Router, but it also applies to your situation.

Also, I believe you can only use DMZ on one computer on the network with the linksys.
