File Recovery?

I've had Windows XP installed on a system for a little while, but the computer's owner wants me to put Windows 98 SE on there as well, as a dual boot. Since I only had 1 partition, and it was NTFS, I had to FDISK. But after FDISKing, I can't get DOS to recognize the 3 partitions I created. Anyway, I don't care enough and don't really want to waste too much time on this, so I figure he can just live with Windows XP. Is there any way of salvaging the contents of the old C drive? I haven't formatted, but I have FDISKed. The hard drive is a WD Caviar 400BB. I didn't install any of the WD utilities.
I just need to know whether or not there is a way to recover the XP install. Fast responses appreciated.
Thanks :)
Edit: I have Norton Systemworks 2002. I'll try using that, but I am having trouble with DOS commands as I know none of them outside of format. I can't even open up folders. :(

Search for Powerquest lost and found. I've never used it but I think that's what it's for.

Yes - I've seen Lost & Found recover the ENTIRE previous Windows install of a drive that was fdisked, formatted AND had a new OS installed on it. However it took a couple of days (yes DAYS) for it to do the job.

For future reference, there's a third party NTFS driver for Win98 you can get here: http://systernals.com/ntw2k/freeware/ntfswin98.shtml

Thanks the for the ideas, I'll make sure to use that if I ever need to in the future. For now I just reinstalled XP. It is a pain getting all the drivers and software reinstalled but it only takes a few hours I suppose.
Thanks again :)
