I need one for behind my motherboard tray. I have a feeling if I did this, I would only be getting about 20cfm, which wouldn't be much of anything. But is this possible? I would be interested.

BTW: 15mm height or smaller..

Well, nexus, I have looked at many stores, can't find a quiet, slim 60mm. Looks like I'll have to use a 80mm like you. ;) Know any slim 80mm's? (if I did an 80mm, then I could put a 92mm hole in my mobo tray, right?)

i put a 120mm but yea a 92 should work just fine. I got mine off someone in the forums. its a panaflow. not the quietest in the world but its one of the very few slip 80mm fans. probably find it on pricewatch or yahoo shopping. model: FBA08T12H Hope this helps some. this joint has 2 for sale http://www.markhannahsurplus.com/fanblow.php they are used...but as long as they work who cares. mine came with Bare leads so I had 2 attach the plugs my self.

Thanks! That's a slim right? Or can you fit a 25mm thick one in there? (That's on the 830, right?).

Edit: Just checked, it's a slim. You have the high one, I think I may try and find the low one. Thanks for the model #, should really help!

no way a normal 25mm one will fit. yea. I think these are 10mm maby 15. what I did was use normal screws and ram them all the way threw the fan holes then used a nut on the other end and tightned them down really good. put a rubber washer between the fan and the case aswell to reduse vibrations. then just cut the end of the screws off so nothing was sticking out further then the nut. :)

how loud does it say it is?

The sound for your is 34db, the low is 23.

And man, the only place with these slims are the authorized resellers, that require a minimum of like a $200 purchase..:-\

I ALWAYS go to google. Came up with 8-10 links. Most just sites that don't let you order. ;-\ I am looking at all the for sale forums now.

Try an electronics supply house. Mouser, Newark, and digi-key probably have what you need.

I just checked my handy digi-key catalogue, and they have what you need:
Panaflo 80mmx15mm fan, 21.5 dB-A, 21.9 CFM, for 12.50 The part number is P9732-ND

Yeah, I tried there, but they require a $25 min. purchase..

I am guessing it only has bare leads. Bare leads are pretty easy to splice onto a 4 pin molex connector, though.

Ahh, Nexus, if you want one, you should buy. I have to pay a 6.5% sales tax!! Dang! LOL They charge 12.50 for one too, but would you want the low version, or the high? The high is available here:

https://www.jameco.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc ... 501&ctgys=

But no low. If it is easy to slow down a low..(I COULD use my bay bus I am getting..hmmm) then I would get a high.

Tell me what ya think! :D
