I've got the Motorola modem supplied by Comcast. Well after the switch the "activity" light is continually blinking as if there's network activity, even when I'm idle with nothing loaded up (like ICQ or IE).
When I fire up netmedic, it's showing that I'm receiving on average 1-4 kbps and sending .5-1 kbps continually but doesn't list where all this activity is coming from/going to. When I look in my network properties for the NIC that's connected to the cable modem, it's showing no network activity at all, nothing sent, nothing received, yet the cable modem activity keeps flashing and netmedic says I'm sending/receiving stuff........
Is this happening to anyone else? Have I been hacked and my rig being used as someone's mp3 server? Oh, also, if I shut down the computer, the "activity" light stops blinking......
Comcast switch and now wierdness....

Could be the modem is re-authorizing itself constantly. I wouldn't worry about it if you're sure it's not being sent by your computer (I'm thinking trojan virus).
We went through the switch here in central Florida on the 24th and I must say I'm VERY happy. My best game server pings went from 100 to 45. Overall it's responding MUCH faster - browser is much more responsive as well.
