Yeah it reboots when I hit a secure site and whenever I try to access the internet from my second computer (the one that reboots is the server). I've tried changing out mobo/proc, ps, vid card, sound cardd, ram, and I've also tried it with only one NIC in there. I've tried to re-install windows (did a fresh win2k install, then a fresh ME install) same thing. Any ideas guys? Anything I should check? I also put in a brand new HD. here is specs

EFA Discovery ZX board (changed from and Abit board)
C466 (changed from a 300a@450)
256mb ram (changed with 128mb micron)
20gb Maxtor HD (changed from Maxtor 7gb)
2x Compaq 3121 10/100 PCI NIC's (did it with an Etherlink III ISA)
Sound Blaster 16 PCI (removed and still happened)
TDK 12x10x32x IDE (took out)
Acer 50x cd-drve (took out)
Floppy drive (didnt takje out or change)

Random reboots that appear to be triggered by network traffic are often caused by a PCI IRQ channel sharing problem (this is NOT the same as an IRQ conflict, there are four PCI IRQ channels labelled A - D and all your PCI and AGP devices must share them). This problem does not affect ISA cards.

This problem is very common with NICs, some PCI sound cards (the SBLive in particular is VERY prone to it) and SCSI controller cards. These cards do NOT like to share a PCI IRQ channel I explain the problem in detail here with a fix: http://soldcentralfl.com/quakecoop/glfaq5.htm#5_9

I suspect one of your NICs is sharing an IRQ channel with another card. If the problem is easily reproduced, try moving one of the NICs to another slot. Keep changing slots. If that doesn't helpo, put that one back where it started and move the other NIC.

It might also be a lot easier to troubleshoot if you pull all your PCI cards except the NIC and experimented.

This can be a tedious problem to solve. You may also need to try a different brand of NIC. Some NICs are more fussy about this, and about coexisting with another NIC, than others.

ya know its odd I tried that before and used an ISA card and it didnt help anything but now for some reason it worked. Oh well. I wont ask questions. Cool I been trying to fix this for like a month. Sweetness! Yay internet! yay!
