Anybody know when AMD and Intel plan on lowering prices next? I thought I heard it as soon but I can't remember when. I've got my eye on a 2.2 Northwood.

I've heard that Intel's prices are supposed to go down today, though you might not see that in effect for a few days. I'm not positive about this, however.

Not for nuthin' but what's the attraction to the Northwood when a 2000+ AthlonXP ( 1.67 GHz) gets about the same performance at about 1/2 the cost?

Because I'm willing to spend the money for an Intel chip based mobo for the stability. It also looks like changes are good for a descent overclock out of a 2.0 Ghz Northwood.

Don't know if I'm buyin' that. Nuthin' unstable about my rig but to each his own. Now if they could just beef up the Floating Point and Instructions per Clock Cycle on those p4's you might have somethin' !

I could counter your points but I am going to let it go. I'm not up for an argument. Both chips are fast and have their strong points.
