What's a good 19" monitor?

My old monitor just bit the dust and I'm looking for something around $500 or less.
I need good text at 1280X1024 minimum.
I've seen a Samsung and Viewsonic at the local B&M CompUSA but both appeared to suffer from bad geometry--that would bother me.
Ooooo, and anyone know of any models that may have multiple inputs, like say 2 VGA or a BNC and a VGA input so I can run 2 computers from the same monitor?

break down and buy a flat panle. I got that 17.4" viewsonicfor like $750-$100 (rebate). that is pritty close to what you are looking for, and it does have dual imputs....hehe I even did dual imputs from the same videocard. I just wanted to test it. it was pritty funny. otherwise I say sony or hitachi. both make Flat displays and have excelent picture quality.

I have an NEC FP950 (19" Aperature Grille) Has both VGA & BNC. .25-27dpi (variable) up to 1920x1440. There is a newer one with .24dpi with res just as high. Mine looks like this

and here's the FP955

Check out NEC's line. They use the same tube as sony's I believe. And the sonys' look great (only this way you don't have to pay for the "sony" name

)

i've seen hipnotic_tranz's Moniter, and beleive you me, it's awesome. If you don't want to go flat panel and you don't mind spending a buck, I'd definately go with the NEC FP950 or NEC FP955, if you want to find the FP950, just do a search on
http://www.pricewatch.com, otherwise you might have trouble finding it.
Tell us what you decide and why, I'm wanting to bump myself up to a 19" also.......

Thanks guys for the recommendations.
No flat panel's for me though Greg, still not quite there for gaming. I went and looked at a few tonite and ghosting still seemed to be a problem, even on the higher end models over $1,000.
I'll give the NEC monitors a test drive HT, thanks for the heads up.

If you can still find one, the Samsung 950p is a really fine older design. It is not a flat or flat screen CRT but it does have outstanding specs and can be had for a good price as it is discontinued.

I've got the Samsung 955DF monitor. For the price ($319) it's a great monitor. I was going to get the NEC FP950+ or such. It's $399 and also comes in a black cabinet. The NEC Multisync that are flat screens do use the Mitsubishi tubes, because Mitsubishi and NEC have an "alliance". Luckily I managed to get 2 overlapping rebates on my monitor and am getting $70 back.

I'll second Lmandrake. I'm no expert, but my 950P is quite satisfactory for my uses. And you can have two of 'em in a $500 budget.

Mine was $237 shipped.
