DAMMIT JIM! You guys know of any dos boot disks that would allow me to gain network access so that i could copy a few files from my womans computer to mine.... I only ask cause i totally fvckered up my install of Win2k... I took out my generic stick of pc2100 and decided to crank up the crucial... Well i got to 155FSB at 888372.53 runnin' fine everything was hunky dory... Then i decided to go to 8882622 and now i get windows cannot find this file or it is corrupt file is ntoskrnl.exe.... The hard drive actually wouldn't even work when i had it on those fast ram settings... i had to clock it back down to 133 fsb just to get it to work again.. Its too big to get onto a floppy and i really don't want to pull this drive and put it in the other computer... Should i just reinstall win2k over the top or what... I have a lot of documents and shit i need to back up and hate to do that... oh well guess thats what i get for pushing the limits on crucial lol I'm gonna order me some PC2700 from assholemicro on my next payday. 85 bucks per stick 2 stick plus shipping 182... might be generic ram but oh well... Least its rated at 166/333 and won't hose up my Win2k install :) I did get to 1550 10x155 though :) Couldn't get past about 142 with the generic stuff in there...

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! Shit i'm fvcked just lost about 15 gigs of setup files and MP3's SOAMFB Dammit now i'm pissed about ready to toss this prick right out the friggin' window... I just couldn't leave it alone... nooooo that would have been too easy...lol Now i gotta spend all night getting the sucker back up since the cable guy is suppose to be here tomorrow to install my cable... Well at least i'll have cable to redownload all the shit i just lost <sigh> :( All my links at least i have a burned CD with all the DRiver files on it YAAA for that! And about 5 cd of mp3's but i was pushin' 6 gigs of mp3's so i know i lost at least half of them i had. ARGH! I feel like i've been violated! lol Oh well i was thinkin' about going to WinXP again since most vendors have their XP drivers out... Looks like i know what i'll be doing all night long.... I had my 40 giger split into 2 with all my setup files and mp3's on D drive looks like it wiped out everything. I slapped in a dos boot disk and it couldn't find nothing on c or d... Oh well "Lifes a bitch, but i deal with it" - Kid Rock....

Predator...you were able to hit 150mhz with that stick of Crucial? I've got (2) 256mb Sticks on the way and i'm curious how high they will go. But it's nice to see you got them to 155...thats pretty damn high. I was hoping for around 150mhz with my sticks and that new XP 1800. Keeping my fingers cross.

Guess this is a good lesson to always back up before you start playing with your o/c'ing!!! Glood luck getting all your stuff back...what a pain in the ass.

No LL i hit 155 with that Crucial with ram timings of 888372.53 on the 8k7a everything was fine there but i decided to crank the timings up to 8882622 and poof failed reboot after reboot after reboot even failed at 133 then i got hdd errors when it finally did reboot :( I decided to load XP back on figured what the hell gonna go raid next month so i'll have another reload ahead of me if i don't like it this time.... I'm still in the middle of reloading it hope its done before the cable dude gets here lol He'll see my desk its a mess with cd's skattered everywhere at the moment...

I think the part that sucks the most is all of the lost links.... So if anyone wants to start donating links to anything and everything go ahead... And while yer at it since i suffered such a trama last night i'm gonna need a psychiatrist now and can't afford it so could you please send some paypal to my account :) lol (of course this is only a Joke... The 6 pack of Mickey's i drank last night after i did this was all the Psychiatrist that i needed :D )

Predator: Been there, done that. I feel your pain.

Do yourself a BIG favor and make a backip of key data and a Ghost image of your boot partition. Makes life a LOT easier if something like that happens.

It's probably not the RAM's fault. Many hard drives and hard drive controllers become unstable is the PCI clock is radically off frequency.
