Yeah i know...what a pain in the ass. I was wanting some DDR and i knew it was going up, but damn they went through the roof lately. From $29-33 for 256mb this late summer to $71 now. Ugh.

It looks like memory prices might go up for the near future. Hynix increased their prices 30% a week ago and Infineon also increased their prices the next day. They're still not making any money, production cost is higher than current spotmarket pricing for memory chips.

Not that I like the way memery prices are going but, I remember laying out $125 for a stick of 128meg PC-100. Prices have been higher than they are now. I just hope they don't get that high again.

I would've expected pc133 prices to go up no matter what as DDR became more mainstream and they ramped up production on that and scaled production down on pc133 ram. Well, what ya gonna do? just ride it out and hope it hits the ceiling quickly.

Hell, I remember paying about $200 for 4MB back in the day.

I once got an 8 MB SIMM for $240, and it was a hell of a deal!

I just got "torqued up" for $100 bux for a 256MB stick of Kingmax PC2700 that I'll be using on my new "super secret" DDR/AthlonXP upgrade. :( Prices are going up everyday so I grabbed some.

Supposed to be good stuff tho. Make sure you ask for the -05 part if you decide to buy some as some vendors are selling -07A as PC2700, but it ain't.
