I've heard a few people rave about them. Frankly, I've always considered Lite-on to make acceptable - not great - OEM products.
There's some real good prices on them at NewEgg and I was wondering.

A friend of mine has the 24X one and only says good things about it. He can burn backups of his Safedisk 2 games and all....overall it seems like a great burner. I would recommend it if you need a new burner. Personally, I just recently bought my 20X before the 24X's came out...so I can't justify upgrading, since it would only save me about a minute on my burn times...now when the 32X's come down in price...I am gonna be there. Good Luck

I have the 24x LiteOn and it works well. I just got it and haven't used it much but I burned an SD2 game and it works just as well as the original. It's amazingly fast. It probably took 8 or 9 minutes to create an image and burn it (I don't use on the fly). I recommend the retail version since it's only a couple bucks more, includes all cables, and is packaged better. I ordered the OEM version for someone else and the Nero CD came cracked, so I'd say it's worth it to go for the retail.

Lite On has improved so much that in many reviews they get better grades than even Plextor.
Some are saying at ferengi's deals that at Sams Club you can get a 24x pacific digital for $56.91, and it's a rebadged Lite On. Major deal if your sams has it for that. Many Cendyne's are also rebadged Lite Ons.
I have one and it works just fine. Just a few minutes and it's done. Amazin'

My first burner was a Lite-On 2X and I have it in the old Celeron 300A box and it's still kicking. It has always worked fine for me. I sometimes wonder about them because I hear people saying good things about them a lot lately. Maybe they deserve some of my consideration when it comes time to buy again.

I Love my lite-on 24102B.
In fact, I just burned a 99 minute CD! I put two albums on one CD-R, and I tested it in 2 CD-ROM drives and 2 Discman-type players. All 22 songs played, right up to the 98:27 mark.
I can also backup and play SafeDisk 2 protected stuff no problems. The audio extraction is only so-so (max of aorund 12x), but for the price, it is unbeatable.
