Some hate maxtors while some like them, as I do. I've had many and rarely have a problem with them and they are quieter also than IBM or WD hard drives. I prefer them over any other brand.

Rarely had a problem with one, and their RMA department is quick and courteous.

I've had about a million different hard drives. Now that I think of it, I've never really had a problem with any of them. Right now I'm using a 7200 rpm 40 Gig maxtor. No complaints here. If the price is right, I say go for it.

back in early days of overclocking, Maxtor HD's couldn't tolerate high bus speeds. Not any more. I have had many maxtors and never had a problem.

Maxtor replacement for a dead disk is fast and friendly, if something does go wrong they are great (unlike Quantum, 6 weeks for a new disk). I have (and still use) a 30.7 Gb 7200 Maxtor and they work great, fast reasnobly cool and not too noisey.

Thanks for the feedback.

However, unfortunately, the dude that was selling it sold it while I was sleeping, even though I talked to him first... (55$ shipped for a 20gb 7200).. Oh well. ;)
