Cordless Optical mice and gaming, OK but strange....

I luv my Logitech cordless, optical mice (now on this PC and another with my notebook PC too) and they even seem to do OK in games but I've noticed that in UT, I needed to slow down the mouse settings or it was too fast from the previous corded optical mouse.
A few times last night when I was playing a few games it seemed to put me into a forward motion mode for a few seconds when sometimes joining a new game but it didn't last long and after that, it gave me no problems. It's not bad enough of a problem to consider not using this mouse for games IMO.
If anyone else using a cordless optical mouse gaming has had that occur and knows if it's cureable, please do tell.

Make sure you have acceleration disabled in the mouse settings. Optical mice with acceleration enabled doesn't work right in games.

I picked up a Miscrosoft Courdlees Explorer mouse the other day. I loved the shape of the mouse but was very disapointed in the way it acted in games. So much so that I am back to my corded Explorer. I played with every setting I could find but no matter what movement was very jerky. Aiming in games like CS or UT was very frustrating

They'll have to pry my corded MS Optical Explorer mouse from my cold, dead hands. Especially since it has a lifetime warranty and I'm on my 2nd one....
I love that mouse.

A friend of mine has the second generation Logitch Cordless Optical mouse, and it is really fast. In logitech driver, it is the equivalent of 3-4 notches FASTER than his old cordless mouse.
I think they are just really sensitive.

I am about to buy a cordless MS wireless exploerer mouse... Do you suggest just going to the corded? I LOVE the feel of the cordless, but if it is going to cause problems in games, I don't know if I should get it...
What ya think?

I am with you Sean on the feel of the MS cordless mouse but in games it aint the best. I played with the adj and got it usable but no way as smooth and accurate as the corded version. I am back to the corded version so if you really want the wireless one let me know and I'll make ya a deal
